" Magnifico! Obra maestra"
-
im learning this song on my violin now, and this video really helps me know the rhythm and tone expected, thank you so much!
i love the white baby grand, so pretty!
-
It is a baby grand -- 5'4". So, yeah, it's tiny compared to a full/concert grand!

We had this some played at our wedding four years ago for the bride processional. Beats the hell out of "Here comes the Bride"

Why is this played so up-tempo? It should be played between 40-60 BPM. It ruins the melodramatic flair normally associated with this song. Also, the violin is out of tune.

Yeah, violin was a bit out of tune on this one. Nature of those performances -- "quick and dirty" and approachable by everyone (hence the background noise and kids running around in some of the videos).
Regarding tempo, artist choice really. Fortunately, music is not formed in concrete, but pliable and open to interpretation.

Is there really the copyright protection 62 years after composer death? I have never heard of such law - is not it just 50 years? If there is a copyrigtht - nobody would be allowed to perform this piece (including your little group) unless you have paid the royalties:)

I forget the exact time length, but a copyright extends naturally for a certain period -- perhaps 50 years at that time there is the opportunity for the estate of the copyright holder to renew the copyright for another period of time -- again, another 50 or 75 years. It is something like 120 or 150 years after death that a piece of work becomes public domain (i.e. no copyright held).

Is it possible to get the score of this music? We have a piano trio too, and it would be great to play it!

We would love to score it for you, but Pietro Mascagni was a 20th century composer, having died in 1945, which means his scoring is still under copyright protection. The good news is you should be able to find his music at your local sheet music store. Good luck!
