Is the world really changing for the worse? Were we better off when there was little to no understanding of the natural world, ideological and religious justifications for oppression and slavery were broadly accepted, and colonial nations raped the resources of 3/4 of the world? Not that these things don't happen anymore, but they are no longer acceptable views in secular society. We do have an opportunity, and obligation, to move forward toward human harmony, if we shed our small-minds.
