Theme from The Hardy Boys: The Mystery of the Applegate Treasure 1956

The voice of 'Tony The Tiger': It's Greeeat!, Thurl Ravenscroft sings the opening credits to the Disney's 1956 series of the Hardy Boys. Ravenscroft was also the voice of Disney's cartoon, 'Paul Bunyan' and numerous characters at Disneyland.

from buccaneers,

Handed down in a pirate's chest,

the treasure bright,

til none were left
to bury the chest.

all belong to Applegate,
the chest is here,
but, wait,

This theme sent chills down my 8-year-old spine. And the series kick-started me on a lifetime of habitual reading. . .it all started with the Hardy Boys. . .

The part at the 23 second mark, of the pirates shooting at the rowboat, is from Disney's Treasure Island movie (1950). The original scene is in color. Same with the skeleton, and the ship sailing on the water. All from Treasure Island.

I remember watching this when I was very young. My brother and I absolutely LOVED THIS. We would be sitting on the floor in front of our old black and white Philco TV set. We would eagerly anticipate every episode and discuss what we think might happen next. This was really a golden age to be a kid
