  • Proud to be a waray! Waray-waray are very loving, loyal and fair people. But you might want to think twice before you try to make them your enemy.

  • Wow! This is a real treat from Eartha Kitt! Nat King Cole's singing "Dahil Sa Iyo" is a gave away. This one is excellent! Eartha's pronounciation of the lyrics of the song is superb! If you didn't know that she's an American you won't believe it!

  • @emir0721 Warai is a language, not a dialect.

  • haha I'm proud to be a waray-waray :) hah ! kaya beware ! even though I'm in canada now i still want to go back in leyte... ! i really LOVE LEYTE :p (warning: im half spanish and chinese and filipino from caloocan, but i still have the blood of a WARAY ! )

pero we can be friendly naman :)

  • I still cannot believe a foreigner (an American) Eartha Kitt covered this folk song. I understand if she got the part about the national language wrong (Waray is a distinct dialect from Tagalog.). When I first heard this song, I couldn't believe what I was hearing since I was used to her as the voice of Yzma in the Emperor's New Groove series.

    May she rest in peace.

  • was she drunk when she sang this song..hahaha! coz she sounds like it..hahaha

  • whow .. proud of being a wary2x.. hkhkhk

    wary gud kita sugad ..

  • @kbconv Lots of Spanish. Handsome is Guwapo.

  • Very interesting video, but I'm a little completely confused. My understanding is that Waray-Waray is a language, as is Tagalog. I read somewhere that Waray-Waray had some Spanish influence also. I only know a few words in Tagalog and a phrase - "gusto ko ng "word" (isda, gulay, etc.). Someone tried to teach me some Waray but it went over my head, I'm not good at languages (Kano, go figure?, haha). Maybe I run it by some friends and see what's being spoken.

    Anyway, thanks for posting it!

  • excellent....
