I grew up on the MGS series & I say 3 had the best gameplay, 1 had the best plot & back story 2 introduced Raiden & 4 had ALL OF THE ABOVE. all the long time MGS fans are pissed @ Rising because they're afraid of change & the new direction the series is going in. but I'd rather have the game do somethin new then have the series end completely. but Im a DIE HARD MGS fan & needless to say Im gonna give Rising a try

And I'm pretty sure that the MGS2 storyline wouldn't really work otherwise. I think it's great to experience a story from a different perspective. I think that was the strength of the first two Resident Evils or the Halo 2 campaign. Btw, Rising has been redesigned and the storyline is now set AFTER MGS4. You might want to check the "MGS Revengeance: The Truth about Rising" video. Just saying. :)

Yeah I know what you mean. Most hardcore fans, especially the MGS fans, are always complaining about everything and forget to see the positive aspects of their so-called favorite franchise. Now don't get me wrong, MGS is by far my favorite franchise but there is a bunch of stuff I disagree about, especially with the latest games. Btw, I never understood the Raiden-Hate. I think he's a great character, even if he's not an alpha-male type one like Solid Snake or Big Boss.

Metal Gear Solid is probably my favorite game series of all time. I agreed with you that mgs fans are a bunch of babies and dont know what they want. Everything Hideo Kojima touches turns into gold and im sure Rising will be good too. Also snake being old goes with the story and makes sense, if you want to play as the old snake buy the old games or just put the young snake mask you get in the game lol
