the fuel is charcoal,the charcoal is manufactured for me in drums with forest and agricultural residues of the farm where work here in brazil.you made me some questions in "woodgas" and i answered.i give you one looked at.

@ger261 But why not loading directly the wood in the gasifier? All the gases you take from wood when you char it are monstruous kW!!!!

@Rhinoch8 This gasifier is designed for people without resources, so it should be as simple as possible.

see your layout, gasifier, cyclone- cooler, filter and only with charcoal that is possible with wood would have to put a damp scrubber, and I think you would agree that water and mud do not mix.

@Rhinoch8 there is no better set-up to this reality than this,books teach much, but it is building and testing that you get the best "setpoint"

@Rhinoch8 it will still be simple as you can easily make chunks that will be the stockfeed. And with the farm residues there isn't any problem (husks, hulls are small enough to feed).

@ger261 But they still have to buy the charcoal, or make it themselves wich makes it more complicate? I understand the water issue, but since you make it out of cob, it takes the moisture out, and the heat makes it dry and as cob is porous, the surface in the sun would dry even quicker. Even to add that cob can withstand a 50/50 mix with water without falling apart like a slurry! They need to shred the wood, but since they will use dead wood instead of cutting trees (desertification ya know)

Are those rocket stoves you're using? Also, were you using that vacuum to blow air into the stove to get the draft going?

man you should be more careful. I seen three of your vids and you do unsafe things repetedly. sucking in gas fumes with a shop vac is a bad idea. the brushes are continusly producing a spark.
