Snaring - I'm not a fan but what other option does the government give farmers? A snare only has to be checked once in 24 hours so if a fox walks into one an hour after its checked and is caught by his leg he would literally chew his leg off to free himself, if caught by his body he would spend hours struggling and cause himself a great deal of stress and pain. And anything can walk into a snare, even a stray cat or dog.

y'know I am not against hunting in general. In a way you're right, there is a overpopulation of foxes, at least in Germany. I don't know the figures in the UK. The problem I have is, that for the foxhunts, the foxes are first captured alive, then set free on some ranch and hunted by dogs. The hunters only sit around and wait for the fox to come out of the bushes, its no real effort and unecessary cruelty, hence no sport. Why not just bait and shoot them?

Ironically, in Kazakhstan horse meat is very common, more common than beef. They raise horses for food purposes. So his comment about hunting the horse is especially funny.
