If I was Dr. Manhattan, I would create a planet, name it Gaia and then create billions of different organic and inorganic beings and just observe them. Like a clock, everything would be there for a reason. Air to breathe, food to eat, sleep to regenerate, foreskin for pleasure, legs to run, hands to hunt, brain to think etc... Man, I would love to be Dr. Manhattan !

What complexity?
Silk's got commitment issues because of her mother, Rorschach is a psychopath who see crime everywhere because of...wait for it...mommy issues, the Comedian is a man who's lost all hope for the world and Adrian is his counterpart who is willing to do whatever to save it.
Oh, and then there's Owl...zzzz...next...
Again, even as a nine year old I could see through this plot and character complexity. Without Manhattan this story sucks.
