Jonathan takes two choruses of Yellow Dog Blues during the Thursday night jam session at the North Carolina Jazz Festival. Band members include Ed Polcer - leader on cornet, Mark Shane - piano, Herman Burney - bass, Arlin Strader - drums, Jack Pindell -- trombone, Dick VanGorder -- sax, Bob Russell -- guitar and Mike Waddell - sax. Yellow Dog Blues is generally ascribed to W. C. Handy from 1914.
