  • is that nightmare game a licensed game or just an example?

  • @Penguin7406 It was a sample at the time, but we're not sure if the students chose to get it licensed after graduating. The students keep their games.

  • Im a pretty avid drawer, and I like to think I am pretty good in Game Development what kind of path should I take??

  • @MrSAYITAGAIN09 It's easier to find work on the development side, if just finding any work in the industry is important to you. Learn to do both well, and you can probably go far in a smaller indie company. Larger game companies offer more menial development work for entry-level positions. Call us 1-866-467-0661 to speak to someone more in depth about your options

  • im thinking about doing the game development course at this school, im just a little worried cause i dont know how to do it, and i dont know what it takes, hopefully they can teach me how to do stuff step by step, but im a hands on learner lol, im trying to find a good game development software were i can test my skill to see if i can make a game or not lol

  • @Adam150xPS3 We start off with the basics, so you don't necessarily need to know how to program, animate, mix audio, or draw. But if you have prior experience in those areas it certainly helps. Our instructors are there for you along the way, and if you don't understand something don't be afraid to ask for more help.

  • best thing to do is self learn programming, or design, (concept art) and just be creative and LEARN how to do things and prepare for the actual academy where you test yourself and your creativity within the margin.

  • I have a class at my high school for this stuff

  • Kyle you spell my name wrong in nightmare, its Gennadiy not Gennodig, or just Gena... Fix it please :)

  • wow i hope nightmare comes out i wanna test it :3

  • @MbrosFTW If you are looking into programming, TriOS is the way to go, they have a much more in depth programming course. The academy's course is much more general and gives you a broader view of every side

  • Im not sure if I wanna enrol here or trios

  • @AcademyToronto Oh ok thanks for the info, i know somewhat about some things lol, ive been feeling a little discouraged about it, but i think ill do it, and what kind of places would i be able to get in after graduating?

  • @AcademyToronto Yes i was the level designer and world builder of The eaton center FPS.

  • I take it that learning C++ is part of the course?

  • @LoyLT Developing a game in a timely manner is a team effort. Why don't you keep your game idea a secret for now. If you choose to enrol (and hopefully you do!) you can reveal your great idea during in-class pitch sessions for the group projects

  • @thiscantbetaken12321 You were involved with FPS?

  • @UmbrellaGuineaPig Apologies. Your name is spelled incorrectly in the video, but I changed it in our description

  • @aznphil88 The Academy of Design's Video Game Design & Development diploma program is an 18-month curriculum. It's an accelerated curriculum schedule, so you graduate sooner with all the technical knowledge you need to start working in the industry.

  • I was very interested in this course and school, however the 15,000$-ish price tag I was quoted by a rep over the phone was a turn off :(

  • can anyone compare this to UOIT's game design course :P

  • You guys spelled my name wrong its Cromarty not Crowmarty

  • Robby sgriggs lol. it sucks that none of my terms games were in this. awell, come june 22 everyone will be able to see our game

  • I am very intertested in this course. I have a great idea for a game, but Im a little csared because im not sure how this whole process goes. I wouldn't want someone to take my idea :( lol but I know one person cant make a game by themselves. It's a team effort.I really dont know what to do, my heart is telling me to shut the f up and just sign up lol

  • haha really? I thought Rob sounds confident
