Screw you, O'Reilly. None of what we want is "free" stuff. Our taxes pay for all of it. The biggest whore for free stuff is the military industrial complex which has spent over ten trillion dollars in borrowed money over the last ten years on pointless wars and thousands of mothballed planes and tanks that we don't need. Stop using our money to pay for your stupid wars! Stop pretending that the military industrial complex doesn't exist. It's the biggest whore out there today!

The government has certain enumerated powers, and responsibilities, and national security is one of them - that requires maintaining a military. Anyway, most of the people wanting the free stuff don't pay any taxes. Of course some of the taxpayers have gotten the idea that they too should get free stuff. "Free stuff" means stuff that you didn't earn.

Your taxes pay for the infrastructure you use everyday - roads, bridges, etc. as well as public services and police and fire protection. They also pay for the schools you went to and your kids can go to. They make sure you aren't taken over by some foreign power or criminal network.

National security? Ok, seal and police the borders.  I'm fine with that. Send our entire military halfway around the world to police the middle east for ten years and waste ten trillion dollars doing it? That's waste. That's not just maintaining a military anymore, that's imperialism and criminal wasteful spending. In a toss up between giving some poor kid an extra meal a day and giving the military another plane or tank, I'll feed the poor kid, hands down, every time.
