She is one of the best singers in europe, her voice ist specially and perfect, with a lot of humor and fun in it and very true..
I love her inspiration and gladness in all perfomances she did
its a commend from a friend in berlin

I love it! What a rich voice full of color and character. We are used to hearing peepstimmes in this role.
-
@raigekimaru How can it be too rich a sound for Rosina? The role is for a Contralto, if anything the role calls for more color, as she is a mezzo (although I think she does a wonderful job with it). I also wonder, where do you hear her bang into her chest voice? It seems to me that she deftly dips in and out of all that beautiful color. I don't want to go on the war path, but it seems like you are giving short shrift to a great artist.

@MusicaParola Of course she is no Teresa Berganza .... SHE IS BETTER!!! :)

Belle artiste!!

Brilliant! Love her dark voice, wonderful. I know the disction is not perfect, but I still enjoy it very much. Many thanks for uploading this historical footage.

Grande voce ed ECCELLENTE pronuncia italiana!!
Among the best.
-
«Там упоительный Россини...» (А. Пушкин) Упоительность передана.
-
her vocal color is too rich and haunting and she bangs into the chest register too much. even so, a talented singer.
-
yeah, most coloratura sopranos do not sing this well. all they do is show off their high notes and ruin the piece.
-
i had never hear that fassbeender sings rosina. but its realy very good. she has so rich dark timbr and so easy takes high notes same time. many thanks for video!
-
A special and unique artist! I miss her recitals so much. This was a voice so "tangy" and it was a real mezzo. She sang full and open, but never throaty. While this was not her best rep., it's pretty darn good,
-
A genuine mezzo voice!
-
Great voice but so bad the pronunce in italian
-
Great to hear Brigitte in this role, even that it doesn't really suit her heavy voice, especially in the middle and low register.... She's a real artist and a true musician. Love her!

Having seen BF many times in opera, concerts and lieder, it is wonderful to still be able to see her sing arias that i have not seen her perform live. Thank you very much.
-
I love her voice! It's so unique and amazing. I never thought I'd hear her sing this; she does a good job with it!
-
Rare of course, and very well done, for a such a voice who sang Wagner, Verdi, etc!
-
I never thought I'd see BF singing rossini. A rarity indeed! Thanks Oneguin65

This so rare! Great! Thank you so much!
Fassbaender is always unique, and always classy. A superb voice, and much too little known in North America. This may not be her ideal repertoire, but I love it still. For gold-standard-setting work, check out Trovatore alongside Domingo, or her truly arresting Schubert Lieder renditions. A wonderful artist.

She is no Teresa Berganza, to be sure, but... Her luscious mezzo-soprano is handled expertly here, in spite of some concessions in certain types of fioriture. It's also wonderful to hear this aria as written, without all the distracting fireworks beloved by hyperactive coloratura sopranos. On a side note... Her "Suicido!" from La Gioconda is fantastic. A great singer. Brava!
