You people really think there's some difference between corporations and government. There isn't; they're in bed together - it's been that way since the late 19th century.

This whole Capitalist/Socialist debate is a waste of time. There is no real difference in the world today.

As soon as I saw Michael Moore being taken seriously in this documentary, I knew it was just socialist propaganda.

When you allow corporations to work without restriction, they must either bend to the people's will our go out of business. When the government intervenes, the people must bend to the government's will. Socialism is the largest of all monopolies.

They certainly do care about the bottom line and making profit. It turns out that in the marketplace, the way to do that is by giving people things they want. Most problems with corporations arise from special privileges they receive from the government...as is the casewith most problems that are deemed as market failures, like externalities and such.

Our whole government is a corporation. The States are incorporated, Cities are incorporated, even our courts are incorporated. The 14th amendment freed the black slaves from their owners but made us all, black and white, slaves of the state.

Suing akes places in civil court, where almost penalties are monetary. Usually the damages awarded are so low (compared to the offending corp's profits) that they are slaps on the wrist.

In criminal court, a corp. can't be found guilty of a crime. Instead, a real person (often a manager) can be found guilty, thereby taking the fall for all the other culpable people and their subordinates. Thus, corps. have substantial rights but only have diffuse responsibility for how they exercise them.
