when go to the pool i jump in look under water and see a black pool drain cover i rush out of the pool and when i get out i nearly faint i hate pool drains

@thedude327 Wow, what a description! I used to watch the drain "dance" before I'd dive into the pool. So many memories!

@crazygurl1087 As a kid I'd swim at night and was scared to death of the large pool light at the deep end. The drain didn't scare me, but that light always reminded me of an eye and when I'd look at it under water, I'd swim as fast as I could to the shallow end where I was "safe". LOL!

Im not alone!!! I have to take swimming this year in my school, and when i get to the deep end, i see it and hold on to the edge for a few minutes, and it takes me a minute to leave, and when i leave, i swim FAST!!!

When I was younger, I was absolutely terrified of the pool drain (I still am) at the school I visited for swim practice. The drain had a grate cover, and was quite large. It was bright yellow on the inside (I'm not sure what the yellow was ((not urine)), and had black bars. It scared the crap out of me. I wouldn't get in the water unless my swimming instructor was hovering over it. I also wouldn't go down there alone, and I always swam fast to that end and got out as quickly as possible.

I was terrified of drains before I knew they were actively sucking up water as I was swimming (I thout it was only used for draining) but then when I figured out what they really do I can't step foot in a pool

Story of my life here. I was caught in a pool drain when I was only 6 and almost drowned and was saved by my idiot instructor who told me to sit on it because it's fun. I'm pretty sure he tried to kill me.
