It's 1951, black people are second class citizens with no rights and cannot vote. Everything in America is racial then. The Civil War is not a hundred years gone at that time. Its just a fact! Acknowledge it and move on. Who ever he WAS does not matter. Diz & Bird live on!

assuming that most people here possess some rudimentary knowledge regarding race relations in the United States at that time, I simply don't feel that just because this video is shot in 1951, necessitates the need to acknowledge anything other than the great aptitude of these musicians. And, Amen...long live Diz & Bird!

I found out that the drummer is Charlie Smith, Sandy Block - bass and Dick Hyman - piano.
