Paul Size (g), Johnny Moeller (g), and Jay Moeller are "Caressin The Blues."

Paul Size is best known as the young guitar slinger (18 at the time, about a dozen yrs ago) who was sent for from California to be the guitarist in Lester Butler & The Red Devils. Junior Watson had let "the kid" set in a couple of months earlier on his way through Dallas, and he gave those west coasters the heads up when they asked him if he had any ideas).

From Wes Mongomery-ish approach, to the Ohio Players, to shakin' up east Texas dust with Lightnin's Give Me Back My Wig--to all world class soul guitarist, Johnny Moeller plays it all. And all very well. If you need a great session guitarist who is eeeasy to work with, Johnny's your man.

Brother Jay Moeller is on the throne, a chair he is currently filling in the Fabulous Thunderbirds band.

In 1997 I put on another one of my very irregular semi-annual "blues revue" style showcases...this time it was at Poor David's Pub in Dallas.

I had my friend Scotty Ferris film all of my shows for me, and we'll slowly be putting some of the better clips up. Oh yeah, and we have another one planned for '07. Go to http://bluesharphullabaloo.com for updates!

  • Somebody, anybody know where Paul Size is or what he is doing??? I saw the Red Devil's in Wash DC in 1992 & I was blown away. Does he have his own band or is he playing with anyone???

  • Paul is currently playing with the Martha Vineyard based band "Johnny Hoy & The Blue Fish."

  • I just saw Paul last week at Smokin Joes in Allston Ma. playing with Darrel N.

    Fantastic!

  • I just caught Paul playing guitar for Racky Thomas. Racky plays MA/NH area. Paul may just be sitting in for Racky's original guitarist, Nick Adams (another great player). I had no idea who Paul was when he took the stage at the Tupelo Music Hall in Salisbury, MA with Racky, but his understated style and amazing fretwork quickly won me over.

  • Rumor has it he's moving on from Johnny Hoy. Any idea where I can see him now?

  • thanx for the post, and for the comments from you guys. I was trying to track down the band "Red Devils", which is kinda no where: the search wants to give you all the soccer stuff, altho I did see a few seconds of Linda Perry's free fall with her flight master on one video, so not a total waste of time :0)
