Jen closed that argument out perfectly with the last comment of the clip.

@sweet161402 "Would you rather live in a nation of Communism? Because that is a picture of a nation not under God."
In the UK , where I live , church attendance is down to 7%, and nobody takes religion seriously ( but then we have an official state religion everyone ignores :P ). Guess what? life is pretty good here ;).
So, the idea a godless state equates to communism is stupid.

The Bible is quoted on the United Nations. That's a public building. The Declaration of Independance,The Constitution,The Bill of Rights acknowledge a Higher Power. Would you rather live in a nation of Communism? Because that is a picture of a nation not under God.These God haters,& that's what they are, that's where all their energy is directed would not be living in a land of Freedom.Liberty, Justice come from God! Why don't they go to China,no God is calling China, that wouldn't work.

@hellbindercda ...product of service for our ecomony. They leech off the tax system while contributing nothing. This is not good for our country and its standing in the world.

@hellbindercda As an atheist, I don't have people of religion. What I hate is some of the beliefs and actions that religious people take based on those beliefs, like, trying to get creationism taught in schools, lying about science, trying to legislate people's sex lives and women's uteri, denying and lying about climate change, evolution and what real scientists actually say regarding the research. Churches/clergy get huge tax benefits that noone else gets while producing no useful...

@foojuice101 I don't celebrate Jebus birthday either, but neither do I celebrate paganism as I don't beleive in polytheistic gods any more than the christian god.
For me, christmas is a nice holiday where I get time out from work, time I can spend chilling with friends and family. No deity(s) required :).

Jesus promised the end of all wicked people. Odin promised the end of all ice giants.
I don't see any ice giants around.

@foojuice101 I agree, and I celebrate it for the same reason. In Sweden, it's still even called yuletide, (only spelled a little differently) because it was called that WAY before the christians got here and ruined it for us.
-
@hellbindercda actually the majority of atheists DO say we don't know. If there was absolute proof for god we'd happily accept it but there's not so disbelief in the interim is the thinking persons conclusion.
Some atheists ALSO hate religion sure but the two things you describe are separate issues.
There is no War on Christmas as Bill O'Reilly and other militant Christians want you to believe. There is however, a War on Logic, a War on Reason, and a War on Science. The leaders of this Crusade are mostly evangelical Christians with a significant number of Catholic Christians mixed in. If atheists "lash out" it's because we are simply doing so in self-defense.

As an atheist, I don't celebrate Christmas, as in: "the birth of Jebus".If he ever existed, I highly doubt that he was born on the 25th of December. I celebrate the Winter Solstice (aka. Yuletide), the ACTUAL Christmas.
Presents and the pine tree are actually pre-Christian, pagan symbols used as part of the Winter Solstice celebrations. No Jesus involved in Yuletide anywhere, and it's not even mentioned in the Bible.
The holiday was hijacked, and Christians say WE'RE wrecking "Christmas"?
