http://dharmamind.net - A tendency in training can be to assume we are on a journey of accumulating knowledge of experience and insight. Yes, this can be so, but we need to be careful about this. Whilst pondering our 'progress' we also need to be reminding ourselves of the paradox that nevertheless the fundamental tenants of our journey remain the same as when we first started. If we don't, we could easily lose this basic understanding of the path and succumb to our conditioned way of thinking that it's all about progress and therefore just
be turning ourselves into yet another form of conditioned being that remains
forever trapped in the notion of self.

  • 'we do not realise how conditioned we are' .... wise words all Buddhists should reflect on.
