Ok, this is my 2nd run of the night and 2nd fastest. This is the first time at the track with this car and i was still dialing it in.

I am racing Dedicated Mitch in a Civic EG hatch with an LS motor with a mid sized turbo putting down 283whp.

My car put down 325rwhp within days of his car on the same dyno. And yes i feel alseep at the line.

The mod list on this car is VERY short:

3rd Gen JDM swap
EMS Powered Bolt on Borg warner S252 turbo kit
Ebay Side Mount Intercooler
ATS Racing Clutchmasters Stage 4 clutch

Thats it, this put down 325rwhp a few weeks before this in hotter weather @ 17psi.

I was having issues getting the boost dialed in due to the cooler weather this day and on this pass was only running ~15psi. But was still able to run:

60ft - 1.7
1/8th ET - 8.03
1/8th MPH - 89.11

In the 1/4 mile this would be right around a 12.0 flat. With the boost dialed in and a good launch it easily had an 11 second pass in it.

I managed to run a 7.9 at 91 a pass or 2 later before the track got slick and traction was a major problem but didn't get it on video. That run was still only at 16psi so it has even more in it. Once i got the boost dialed in at 17psi i was trapping 93-94mph.

More to come...

  • Hey Ace is it possible to run this turbo with stock 91T ECU?? or would I HAVE to get an aftermarket ECU

  • @mxkcrm You could run it on a 2nd gen ECU/Fuel system but you would have to keep the boost real low to keep from going past the fuel system limits.

Once you upgrade the fuel system and ECU later then you can turn the boost up and really open it up.

  • hi what do you think about the gt3076r turbo vs the gt3071r turbo for the mr2 gen3 turbo

  • @piloe12 The 76 will make a little more power but spool a little slower. Depends on your goals as to which is the better fit.

  • and if you use a torque bar for traction is that

    An option..

  • @piloe12 Talking about a traction bar that mounts between the tranny and front motor mount?

That will indeed improve shifting and traction a lot, Dedicated motorsports makes a real nice one for the MR2.

I didn't have one at the time of this video though.

  • Great run.

  • @WSupra See, thats why i love the 3rd gen or a stand alone, I have blown off couplers tons of times but i can still drive around like normal, just can't boost.

  • only time i was close to home it didnt matter one of my intercooler couplers blew off i couldnt reach it from top or bottem with my short arms so i had to tow it lol
