I *LOVE* this movie! You really have to see the film to get the whole weight of the scene, but it's just wonderful.

The scene kind of is out of pace with the movie--almost sensational. I rented the movie for this scene. I felt the movie was OK, but not THAT great! I liked the scene where she is brushing her teeth... kind of a rare treat to see Bette doing something so mundane! Another movie I made... her brushing her teeth.

I just read that that morning Miriam Hopkins told the director that she had a crick in the neck and to ask Davis to be careful.

a classic scene! And Hopkins is almost begging to be bitch slapped!!! (note the insufferable vocal tone and haughty expression) And who doesn't like a cinematic cat fight--they are so campy and fun.
