WEST is a new Australian feature film that had its world premiere at the prestigious Berlin Film Festival in February 2007. The film was written and directed by Daniel Krige and stars Khan Chittenden (Clubland), Nathan Phillips (Redline, Wolf Creek), Gillian Alexy (McLeod's Daughters) and is supported by Michael Dorman (Suburban Mayhem), Tim McCunn (Liquid Bridge) with Anthony Hayes (Rabbit Proof Fence, Look Both Ways) and David Field (Chopper, The Oyster Farmer).

WEST was produced with the assistance of the Australian Film Commission's Indivision production initiative, Palace Films and post production house Cutting Edge and was filmed on location in western Sydney.

WEST is being released theatrically in Australia in July 2007 through Palace Films. International sales are being handled by Santa Monica based Lightning Entertainment (http://www.lightning-ent.com) (more)

  • over the years, many times i've been annoyed by the constant interruptions by Margaret, and my sympathy has always been with David. quite often i agree with his opinion. but this time i'm annoyed cos he says "it's possibly .. probably ... a depiction of life in the western suburbs in our cities". Is he so out of touch? Is this movie so unrealistic??? I don't think so.

  • @guitarsrawsome It's on this New Yr 2010 weekend on free to air tv. I want to see WEST. I liked Cedar Boys too. Khan is a good actor.

  • @filmfanatic99 its weird hey, australia is one of the most affluent countries int he world with little crime and poverty but australian cinema always shows us on the negative, were are the happy stories?
