@Shintsu2 like cadillaic doesn't have problem like blown head gaskets and shit ass oil adaptor gaskets and transimission failure. i nevered heared problems like that on lincoln and thats the stuff you should worry about on a car no matter what. GM had lots of problems with the northstar 32 valve V8 which they don't make no more and the intech or 4 cammer which never had problem like northstar. and the riviera looks like a rolling garbage can

@Shintsu2 judging by the name he is more than likely a ricer anyways.. Mark viii was ahead of its day.. a bit pricey but you get what you pay for. its no wonder GM went under.

If you remember me blackice, i'm on your side to the fullest. I used to own the china blue 93, and I am getting a 97 Toreador red LSC tomorrow. I am going to post pics on the form.

As a personally owner of an Eldorado, and a Mark VIII, I much prefer my Mark VIII. You just can't compare a FWD to RWD, it's not fair to the poor FWD. It never had a chance.....

You are correct on everything BlackiceLSC, but Eldorados were RWD. Rivieras are crap since they came ONLY with 3800 II SC engine and FWD. Eldorados came with Northstar and were fairly potent cars, but their styling is too similar to MarkVII IMO.
Hmmm...every 1967-later Eldorado I have driven had a transverse-mounted engine, and a trans-axle, indicating FWD. Perhaps you are thinking of the Seville, or STS. But the Eldorado/ETC was a FWD car, until its discontinuation on 2002.

Yuck, I'll take an Eldorado or Riviera over a junky Mark VIII any day, let alone any Lincoln. Especially since every single Lincoln's air ride shocks go bad and the ass sags. Heh, and lets see, Mark VIII's were stopped before Eldorados and Rivieras, wonder why..

Sintsu2...you need to do your homework pal. How many 11 second Eldorados and/or Rivieras do you know of? Oh, and lets see...when was the last time you studied up on air ride options, coil conversions, and aftermarket availability? Try slapping gears in a Eldorado...oh wait, that's right...they're FWD...
Furthermore, the Mark series is numerically evolved...unlike the (discontinued) Riviera, and Eldorado. The Mark VIII was # 8 in a series...THAT'S why they ended production.
