The World's Tallest Water Ride, Pilgrims Plunge, started testing today (April 6, 2009). A boat was hoisted up the 131-foot drop hill (elevator testing hasn't started yet) and then released. Testing will continue another day, using varying water depths. After that, the pool will be drained so that adjustments may be made to the track. Pilgrims Plunge opens to the public on Holiday World's opening day, May 2, 2009. http://holidayworld.com Remember, this is a work in progress! We'll post more test videos in the coming days.

  • It's a company called IntaRide.

  • Please remember...that video was taken on the first day of testing. That's what testing is for ... lots of fine-tuning takes place. It's part of the process--no worries!

  • Don't know for sure ... but I would guess next week sometime.

  • Not to worry, Scott, that's what testing is for...test and adjust, test and adjust.

  • Yes, the splash has only begun to ... splash. :0)

  • Holiday World needs to build some steel coasters.

  • Watch when the boat hits the water at 17 seconds. It levels out, hits the water, makes a short and painful looking jump, hits the water again hard, starts to really slow down then pretty much stops.

    Still looks really fun! =)

  • thats what the splash should have been like

  • @raechelrenegade

oh wow congratulations you know how to spell! your point?

  • @whoaemileigh They're*

  • @raechelrenegade

ummmm their not ALL fami,y parks and it is because of that i just dont know why!

  • @whoaemileigh Family parks can't have steel coasters?! Have you heard of Disney World, Six Flags, Busch Gardens, Cedar Point, Kings Island, Kings Dominion, any other theme park? They are all family places. What you said is absolutely ridiculous. They can't get a certain type of coaster because it's a family park? They can, they are just choosing not to. It being a "family" park has nothing to do with it.

  • @raechelrenegade

i know but they cant because its a family park

  • Thats stupid, because without the water on the drop it makes the splash bigger.

  • If the water run was shorter, or if you would've added some water jets to move the boat along. Could we of been looking at the intended type of splash?

  • why not give it a 95 angle down? it would be awesome.

  • When it hit the water, there was soooo much force that it would hurt the riders and wouldn't be as pleasent as it is now.

If you see, the boat hits the water really hard, which isn't good.
