This is video of a brief tornado which touched down on the afternoon of April 14, 2011 near the city of Stroud, Oklahoma. This tornado appeared to happen after some sort of a boundary interaction.

I am a storm chaser based in Norman, OK. You can visit my website at http://www.benholcomb.com for more information about me and full accounts from my past storm chases including video and pictures.

  • @MrBenCaesar I guess I am an idiot for living in this region. I love living in Oklahoma, and compared to other places, is not very disaster prone. Tornadoes are part of life, and even with their seemingly elevated occurrence in Oklahoma, the odds are still much lower than someone in Los Angeles being affected by an earthquake.

  • Nice siren ambiance! You are hearing a P-15 and an STH-10.

  • @SuperPreyMantis It has ground contact therefore it is a tornado.

  • My Uncle lives in Ardmore, Ok and we've been very worried about him and all the severe weather. This is an awesome vid. Thanks for posting!!!!

  • @MrBenCaesar Name one place that doesn't have its dangers. Is that where you live? I think every region has its dangers. I live in a region that rarely gets tornadoes . Except three years ago a freakish thing happened . . we got an EF-5 tornado. Hope your place remains always safe . . . but that's what we thought too . . .

  • its down dude!!

  • @SuperPreyMantis You should look up the definition of a tornado, then tell me it's not a tornado. Fool!

  • The dryline was actually stalling and backing up a little around this time frame. I saw an LP supercell to my west and saw another to my very close north at the same time. I was by Boley and Castle when all this was going on. I was estimating that the LP storm was by Prague when I saw it. I saw a brief funnel and a brief tornado, but the brief tornado came from the storm that was closer to me. The tornado I saw didn't last but about 30 seconds though.

  • @MrBenCaesar It's not as bad as it's made out to be. I live in this region, and every tornado I have seen was only seen because I storm chase. Most of the tornadoes are like the one in this video, not the big wedge tornadoes everyone sees in the news. The majority of them never touch a house. Also it is a large region that is known as tornado alley, and only 1% of them are in the violent category. Lots of people out here have never seen a tornado, there are 100 year old houses still standing.
