@tomcatru for travel in under-developed countries why didn't you just filter and treat the water from the tap instead of buying bottled water?

Hey, I've been thinking of buying an osprey porter backpack because they're about the only backpack I have seen that doesn't have a detachable day-sack. I've heard a lot of complaints about them being uncomfortable, as in the straps aren't great for a heavy load or long time wear? Any input would be appreciated, thanks for the video, very informative!

did you take this as carry on?!

@khillertubes, I would have loved to treat water, but I couldn't find a practical and affordable solution to do so. It seems that many methods require a fairly long prep time. If you have a water treatment solution you can recommend, I would love to learn more about it.

on some airlines you can take a bag this size as carry-on, but on most I had to check it (the bag's straps zip into the backing, so that it doesn't get damaged in conveyer belts, etc)

Yes, I think 12 kilos is the right number. My apologies!
