i agree with not giving children drugs, unless they absolutly need it, in this case she did.. i think you missed the part where her imaginary friends tell her to kill herself and hurt other people, including a man that follows her around and tells her to do "bad things", she also says she wants them to go away, i think this is a very clear case of schizophrenia

human beings retain strong denial about truth & reality of spiritual entities and spiritual presence in our world. a clever lie has been created, to explain away matters that humans have absolutely NO ability to understand or tolerate. the lie is some sort of "mental illness", where the real truth is that human beings are NOT the only beings that exist. this causes great fear (terror) and the desperation to "explain it all away". humans want sense of "control" over what they cannot control.
