Cliff & Sara's unique covenant wedding illustrates the beauty of a wedding not licensed by the state, but solely between the husband, the wife, and God. Most people today assume that a marriage license is required. However, even the definition of the word license shows us otherwise -- "a license is permission given by a competent authority to do that which would otherwise be unlawful or illegal." Before the ceremony, Cliff & Sara passed out booklets to explain the finer points of the covenant wedding along with the negative aspects that licensing has had in America.

The booklets handed out during the ceremony, as well as the unique "Constitutional Covenant" Cliff & Sara designed and which was signed during the ceremony are both available online for download.

  • GREAT Video! I like how it is so softly edited! Great music, too!

I ran across it through the East Forsyth '76 Class Reunion page.

    Cheers and Congrats!

  • Happy Anniversary!! I like how you two kept it simple.

  • If I ever get married, I will not be getting a marriage license either. License, or no license, we would still be married in the eyes of the Lord. I can't help it if the state is blind.

  • amazing! My wife and I were also united in marriage without a license! This gives us much inspiration, as we are both God-fearing Christians, and we advocate this kind of ceremony! Thank you for sharing!

  • i just wanna say congratulations (dont know how to spell :P) on getting married :) yaw look really happy together :) this is a great vid of yaw, funny.
