Victoria first recored a much less produced 'Resentment' in 2003. It saw a release in a DVD format with 'The Real Beckhams' as a potential song for her second solo album which never came about. The song came to light again in 2006 when Beyonce Knowles put her vocals on the track, changed a few lyrics to gain writing credits and whacked it on her new album 'B Day'.

I love both versions. There is no argument that Beyonce has a better voice but I don't think it's fair to say that VB shows no emotion in the song. I can feel the pain in VB's version because she's singing about David and his scandal while I don't really know what B is referring to. I absolutely love both versions but love VB's more because she sounds so meek and vulnerable. I commend Beyonce for her stunning vocals but I can relate much more to VB. <3

beyonce's version is much better. it feels more passionate and as someone who has gone thru similar things, u feel the raw emotion behind beyonce's. it's well sung and her vocals and remake allows the song to build up to a great climax.
