Rescuing forgotten Canadiana the only way I can at the moment: pointing my camera at the TV screen. Since this song ("The Formula" by Thinkman) is about watching TV anyway (and features a number of TV screens in it), shooting it off my own set adds a new layer. But sorry about the "Muffy's livingroom" echo on the audio. As an added bonus: a few seconds at the beginning with "Images in Vogue" winning a 1986 Casby Award, introducing Tim Welch (later of National Velvet) as their new guitarist, and MAYBE with Doctor Demento in the background?

  • 22 Years i was looking for this great and best song for ever! Today i found "The formula", i didn't know the singers name! Thanks, i love it!

  • @anitawithkids You're welcome, Anita! I'm thrilled I solved a mystery for you.

  • is this lisa dalbello singing between 2:40 - 2:59?

  • Yes, that's her! This "video edit" of the song contains much less of her than does the full "album version."

  • thanks for uploading this video - watching it brings back my teenage memories. I used to like Thinkman back in 80-s... :)

  • You're welcome! It's a sadly forgotten piece of music, and what a fun video...

  • @anitawithkids Rupert Hine is his name. Check out, if you will, 'Arrested By You', a beaut of a ballad from 'Better of Dead', film.

  • @Muffysb Thanks again, and many, many regards to you

  • super song aus den 80er

  • One of the actors is Julian Clary!!!

  • It's a fakeband.

They are all actors (except for Rupert Hine).

It's genius, everyone believed they were a band.

  • Remember the song from the summer of 1986. Purchased the CD ('The Formula') in 1988. All songs, with no exception, are very very good. The CD is still in mint condition.

Makes you wonder why on earth rubbish like Spice Girls sells. People don't appreciate real art.
