I can but imagine what a fit I'da pitched if I'd seen this at around 3 years old... it may have scarred me for life.

Probably not, to the best of my knowledge. There is said to be another rare logo used for TV syndication that was based off of the 1982-87 Paramount Home Video logo, but I have yet to see it. It seems the Blue Mountain was always more common during that period.

weird the same plans were put in place in 1994 as UPN started (Startrek series as cornerstone of new Paramount Network) and It worked, kinda.....well half of it it survives today as the CW

That's not entirely accurate. A new Star Trek series was to be the cornerstone of the Paramount network, but they didn't call off the network to turn Star Trek into a movie. Paramount couldn't line up enough affiliates to make the network viable, so the cancelled plans for the network and re-worked the new Star Trek's 2 hour premiere episode into "Star Trek - The Motion Picture".
