To my friend from Mexico, RetroArcaicoRex and to the memory of the most beautiful face of silver screen - Dolores del Rio, first performer of famous "Ramona".

The earliest Polish rendition and recording of that song, made by Tadeusz Faliszewski for Syrena-Electro, 1929.

No! No! No! Your mother was compared to Dolores del Río?? Like Sophia's mother was compared to Garbo, and even won a Garbo look-alike competition?? Wonderful!! I shall mail you photos of my oils of Pola and Merle and Dolores as soon as I finish them, and I'd paint your mother at practically no cost (if you haven't already 8 or 10 oils of her in splendid gold frames), just as long as you keep pleasing me with your unique old records!! Unfortunely - the story is not so full of joy: the most beautiful portraits (in golden frames), painted or photographed, got lost during war time.

Very little survived and you can see MY Dolores del Rio in the video: "Lili Larys -- "Łabędź" (Le Cygne / The Swan)" - my channel. This is only what survived.

Next Ramona (as well as next Pola N. !) - will appear. But as everything of special importance - they need special moment to emerge.

Wonderful, wonderful!! The best version so far!! And my best friend Moudar got no stay permit and had to leave Sweden early February. He can only listen to the cassette tape I made for him. There is in the Czech film archives the only excisting copy in the world of the Dolores del Río film Ramona. Is there no one with the clout, power, authority to persuade them to make a marketable DVD of Ramona? I don't want to leave this world without seeing the dream movie of my '40s childhood!

It is touching me in double way: the melody due to its special beauty has been always moving me and...- my mother, due to her looks was - once upon a time - compared to... Dolores del Rio. Yes.

I have no power to activate any body responsible for publishing the film now, but perhaps it will be good news to you that I have prepared... another video with Ramona, which will appear one day on my channel.

Do not know the exact date - so many commitments.

Here the verse sits perfectly unlike Dolores del Río's otherwise magic 1927 version. One wonders from where Jurek gets all his artistic material for his exquisite videos considering that everything in Poland was bombed and destroyed?? A personal plea: there exists a unique copy of the film Ramona in Czech archives. Can't you and your powerful youtube friends try to get a DVD copy of the film??? Hijole! pense que la pelicula RAMONA estaba perdida para siempre. Yo aprecio a Dolores, porque vino a Mexico a filmar la Pelicula IN CALIENTE en 1935, y fue precisamente en lo que fuera el famoso Casino de Agua Caliente de Tijuana Baja California.

a mi me interesa mucho el tema de dolores del rio,creo en mi modesta opinion pedirle en una misiva al presidente de mexico felipe calderon su apoyo para conseguir una copia del gobierno checo debemos conseguir esa copia.todo se puede y el rescate cultural tambien.
