There were two big challenges right from the beginning: 1. My short hair and 2. My hair. I didn't think my hair would be long enough to cover an artificial "bump" like the hair in a hairnet trick or a BumpIt thingy. So I was going to have to use my own hair. But my hair is very "slippy". The only word I can think of to describe it. It doesn't do well with any type of fastener and even teasing can be difficult because the comb just slips thru the hair instead of pulling it down like you want it to when you're teasing. It took me a long time to learn that I need some kind of product to give my hair some kind of texture if I want to do anything with it.
There was still some tucking, pinning, and spraying to do after I stopped filming, but for not knowing what I'm doing, I think it came out alright.

  • I have hair which is even shorter than jaw length but my beehive is huge as i concentrate all the volume on the top of the head and hide all the pins under a thick alice band which goes the whole way round my head...when I wear my hair down people are always very surprised at how short it really is

  • I'd like to see it...show us sometime?

  • This is Awesome, I just got an inverted bob style and I am trying to find different things to do with it!

I'm going to try this one with a bit of volumizing spray for a bit more lift!

Thanks for posting this, yours looks really great!!!!

  • Thanks, Squirt. Glad you like it. Have fun with yours!

  • not bad for really short hair, maybe some nice sparkling baretts to finish the look, lovely i will try it = )

  • My collection of hair sparkles is definitely lacking. I'll have to work on that, too.

  • my hair is the same length as yours, and I have had a hard time finding a video that shows to do this with my length hair. Thank you for making this video. I can't wait to try and see if I can do it too.

  • Glad you like it. Its been a little tough working with shorter hair. But its been fun!
