  • I miss you guys. :)

  • @UpgradeMeVideo We miss you too Aaron. I hope that all is going great for you and the family!

  • Hi Burton--I used to train in your class at the Honolulu Hangwanji 6 years ago! Are you guys still there? I'm still training in JKD but it's mostly on my own. That's one thing I miss about being in Hawaii--martial arts are much more popular over there than where I'm at on the Eastern U.S. I consider your school and your teaching style to be one of the best available in the U.S. One day I'll come back out there and train with you guys again! Cheers!!

  • @Refuse2Lose33 Come on back any time! We are still at the same location, and still having a great time training realistically. It is better than ever.

    Aloha!

  • @BurtonRichardson Are you the REAL Burton Richardson? Most top JKD people and other "celebrities" stay away from communicating with the public (YouTube).I've taken Wing Chun for 14 years and found 80% of it to be garbage, I incorporated boxing which I actually started before Wing Chun and did some wrestling, so I kind of created my own JKD. Do you think traditional Kung Fu will make a comeback in the UFC? Or will MMA extinct all single styles?

  • @SchizophrenicNYC I think that kung fu has its place as a self defense art when trained correctly, meaning using lots of sparring. I have friends in kung fu who sparred from the beginning who are very good fighters. The UFC and MMA have shown that everyone needs to train in all the ranges, and must train realistically in order to be able to apply the art against a skilled, resisting attacker.

  • guys i am having an online argument with a "MMA" fighter who does not believe that a groin shot hurts. The guy clearly has no penis or balls, because a kick off someone untrained will drop a man to the floor, never mind someone who knows how to kick! Thanks for the video, i will pass it on to the guy with no genitals!

  • I think Bruce Lee would be very happy with this test. good JKD

  • @SchizophrenicNYC I think of the tool like a heavy bag. It can help certain skills, but it is not magic and it cannot replace sparring. But, it can be useful for many aspects of fighting.

  • @BurtonRichardson Would you say the wooden dummy is useless? Do you think it will enhance ones fighting skills? I've read and heard that Bruce Lee used it several hours A day when he first came to America. I have one myself, and I believe it enhanced my skills, just wanted An experts opinion.

  • @BurtonRichardson i agreee!!! such a shame a great man lived so short. i wish he established JKD probably and have proper certified teachers i would love to train that style... btw i made a short clip of me training would you mind giving some feed back :)

  • @dannyrambo1 Understood. Bruce Lee was so far ahead of his time that people are still trying to catch up. What an inspiration.
