that was over ham radio.. so there should have been a callsign announcement before that transmission.. sounds like a good idea for a station identifier!!

RE Audio Quality: The correct way to do this would have been to feed the audio directly into the radio, rather than use a microphone. The would have eliminated the feed back loop (which caused the lack of clarity). We didn't have enough time to set it up that way, sadly - as this particular episode needed to be online the same day the Emic2 was officially released.

Totally. I'd love to see it get some use as a hardware beacon. The ability to generate dynamic human speech with such a low power requirement would make this little guy perfect for remote solar/battery operated automated stations.

I'd like to make some more elaborate songs using this technique in the future. Procedural music generation is interesting. Also; the emic2 can actually sing phonemes - I didn't have to auto-tune him.
