"Splash" is what the FDC (Fire Direction Center) calls over the radio to let the observer know the round(s) are 5 seconds from impact. So having the rounds impact and then hearing the FDC call over the radio "Splash" is somewhat bassackwards. It is NOT a ricochet or as you call it a "rickashay".

The splash is a rickashay. Just like small rounds, the big ones do it to.
