Statistically countries like Mexico that have strict gun control also have high rate of crime this is likely because the criminals are not are not worried about someone defending themselves because the government has made it difficult to do so effectively.

Outlawing guns only stops the general public who actually obeys laws from having them. The people who SHOULD be disarmed will always have guns. And if the general public doesn't have guns but the criminals do, the situation just worsens.

@nellyfk if a person is going to kill someone they don't care about the blood and reactions, they probably don't care about anyone but themselves, and stabbing someone is just as easy as pulling a trigger, and you could kill someone from a distace with an IED taking away a gun doesn't stop people from killing people, and criminals get guns illegaly so gun laws only stop people who follow the law from defending themselves.

With a gun, you an kill people from a distance and not see them, their face, while they're dying... Strangling or stabbing a person means having to witness all their reactions, the blood, etc. It's easier to kill with a gun.
