  • Daved Kay ::::::::as DJ on RADIO DOOM I PLAYED Tom The Peeper MANY TIMES. I disagree it was "Northern Soul" ~ Its HUGE DANCEFLOOR POPULARITY was that IT was PERFECT TO do the "BUMP" to ....... OK KIDZ

  • @davedoom60 Hi Daved if you do a bit of research on this you will find it's been around on the N.S scene for many many years, I was at one my self when I first heard this some 37 years ago and have had it my collection ever since. Best iGuy

  • @iGuy101 YES I can well believe this. I used to go to The Twisted Wheel all-nighters in Whitworth St \ Manchester. I also DJed @ WGAN CASINO. Certainly @ The Wheel all the tunes were usually American R&B \ soul with a particular backbeat. Some (most) had been deleted.

Tom the Peeper has all it takes to be a NS dance hit. What I meant is that it crossed over to NS coz it's GREAT+ versatile.(+FUN!!) .I also have the 7" UK vinyl of it still !! dave

This is the dream of record producers!!!

  • @davedoom60 It's like many classic N,S tunes have, they that start off in the mainstream and cross over to become N.S staples, and even then it's very different from club to club what gets played so you may go to one club in a different area and it never gets a play. Best iGuy101

  • Got this on a LP somewhere up in the loft....need to get them out again!

  • That's your job for the weekend then, up into the dusty loft looking for treasure (-:

  • Northern Soul ?!?!??!?! are you serious ?

  • @iGuy101 That's one of the exciting (and magic) things bout MUSIC +DANCIN'.

When I first went The Wheel I heard James Brown : There Was A Time and the equally amazing Gene Chandler version. I remember searching markets for Chubby Checker: At The Discoteque !!! When MOJO re-released Tami Lynn's "I'm Gonna Run away From You" and Probe (I think) The Tams: HEY GIRL DON'T BOTHER ME they went into the charts. Some collectors were unhappy !!! I was pleased so many more could HEAR+ENJOY these classics
