This footage was first shown on IRIB1 on 16 Jan 2011...so its very recent footage.
It shows a TV reporter having fun with IRIAF F14 crew.

3-6035 recently overhauled after 13 years in storage
3-60?? an empty tomcat frame

All in all, a really good documentary...see part two.

There'll be another episode which I'll upload next month.

Iran didnt built anything?>. Shah built the Iranian aviation industry which hasd plans to build iranian made F-18's and even F-16's in the future by iranian s. The noonsense that iranian couldnt build anything is a garbage fed by the mollahs. How do you thing iran was keeping them in the air?. Shah had built a 700 million complex that iran kept them all and repaired them. iran had plans from 1982 to control and maintain them all by iranians.

The massive effort required to keep these aircraft flying, at least some of them, is amazing. The Iranians have been able to do it. The world's only operational Tomcats. Are the AM54 Phoenix missiles still operational?

I would imagine the competition to fly the F14 is intense among the fighter pilots in Iran AF.

In Shahs time Iran and Iranians was not custim to building anything but doght all they needed thanks to the dictatorship of the Pahlevi regime after all they was the puppets of the Zionists .

As you know the Americans didnt even allow the Iranians to open any parts of the F14s cuz the Shah did as hes masters the Americans wanted .

I personally pray for the day Iran and America would become friends once again! Almost always dream IRIAF jets landing on US aircraft carriers just to say hello and celebrate reunion of their nations...:D (I know IRIAF pilots first should receive training for difficult aircraft carrier landing and have their jets modified to have the arresting hook! But Hey it's a dream!)

So should there be any assistance received from Russians? I'd personally talked to a IRIAF brigadier General (father of my friend) who has received his training in US. He said the personnel of IRIAF are still loyal enough to Americans and their technology not letting any Russians poke around their air-crafts. a testimony for this claim is that none of the IRIAF American trained pilots were willing to fly Russian planes purchased then in combat training! it was considered an insult to them!
