We return to the topic of pulling. Some runners transitioning to Pose Running experience initial calf and hamstring soreness. This is usually due to the body's adaptation to new movements. Some runners also have a tendency to overdo the effort required by pulling feet up too high and to strong.

When you run you must simply pull your leg up as quickly as possible and a little as possible. Enough just to break contact with the ground. Anything more than that, is an overkill. Please pay careful attention to how much effort you put into your movement and keep it light.

  • Thank you for the vid. I'm new to the pose method and was wondering why my hamstring was hurting, lol. Thanks for the explanation, it helped out a lot :)

  • Exactly echo posetv - if you look at ryan hall it looks like he's overpulling... he's not . Instead he's pulling with such force that momentum brings his foot back further. That's also why his knees lift so high on the next stride, btw.
