More star trails looking north over Lake Mantario. Was hoping for some good aurora, but only picked up the tiniest hint of it.

  • Firefly?

  • @cosmos1443 if you are referring to the flash around 0:11, that is just someone's flashlight! :)

  • Great lightning flash, Jennifer!

  • @jameswoodsk it looks like lightning, but it is far less exciting - just someone's flashlight!

  • great star trails, what software do you use to create the second half of the video?

  • @astrogirlwest OK. One day I'll get one of those...

I recently got a video camera and have been experimenting with clouds and sunsets. The only way I can do a timelapse is to leave the camera running for ages and speed it up in editing. It uses a HUGE amount of memory!

  • Oh, or Aw! Lightning sounds so much more exciting!!

  • @finlarg I use the Canon intervelometer to take the pictures - so an automated setup

  • @astrogirlwest Did you take all 350 photos or do you have an automated setup?

  • @finlarg It is a timelapse animation combining about 350 individual shots taken with a Canon 40D. Each exposure was 20 seconds.
