Some great old school slow foxtrot (not ancient like 1962) for anyone who's interested.

(same event as the 24 Second Foxtrot Formation Team)

  • Ancient ? well yes - reminds me of my youth.

Please keep them coming - and thank you !

  • I apologize if I offended at all. As a competitor, I was just comparing the style & technique in this vid to my 1962 one.

You're welcome and it's always a pleasure to watch great dancing from any era!

  • Still very enjoyable to watch esp the perfomance by the Hiltons, Thank u.

  • Great VID!!!!! I was looking for something like that !! All best couples at the one floor..

  • Hiltons made their last world championship in Miami in 1998. Baricci was second, Schiavo third. Baricci was short to be seen in this video, but it is not Miami. It is obviously the UK. You can hear that Bill Irvine was speaker. I saw also Kim Rygel. So it could be Blackpool in 1995 or 1996. Here was Kim Rygel fourth.

  • with marcus and karen hilton dancing john and anne not hmm hilton won obviously

  • Who won that competition? I think Chiavo did a better and more modern Foxtrott then Hilton but despite that I guess he was second.

  • Don't bet on it. I've been striving for years to detect the slightest trace of taste in lettuce or cucumber and it just ain't going to happen. Maybe my ears are just calibrated wrongly. It can't be my brain, as I gave up on that long ago. Perhaps I'll switch to the Can Can!

  • Thats how they rolled in the days of the Hilton rule over ballroom.

  • Dont worry Czerniakowska. You'll get it in time for sure. Just dont stop trying

  • Thanks,I've also heard it called "space awareness". The beat is the biggest hurdle, though. Like many other members of my dance class, I've devoted hours to listening intently to Slow Foxtrot music tracks and yet am still totally unable to detect the beat, which I am assured comprises "Slow..ly (2 beats), Quick, Quick". I don't have this difficulty with any other dance music, so I may end up having to abandon hopes of learning the SF. I guess we can't all do everything! Thanks again.
