  • @nicklking One factor is the wider cross-section of the cfm-56 - they'll block a notably larger portion of the sky from the radar for targets below the AWACS altitude. The jt8-d's are an old design, but these are of the -200 mod, so they'll give better fuel economy than the jt3-d/tf-33 options.

  • lol Jt8d's...I wonder why they don't update all c-135 platforms to cfm-56 engines...high tech fossil

  • what is a red flag practice or whatever this is? I know a red flag can be for rip current or hurricane or fire. But this obviously isn't either.
