"When we left, our school spirit stayed." - JFK student

In the summer of 2008, John F. Kennedy High School was shut down. Since then, we've been fighting to get our school back. With our passion with film, we decided to put this piece together. Yes, the tears are real.

Directed by Justin Baldovino

Music:
Hallelujah - Imogean Heap (Cassandra Suva Cover)

  • Look, I know you guys loved the school. It has so much sentimental value and I would be heartbroken too if mine shut down. But the school was shut down for a reason and before anything gets actually done about this school, you might be long gone. You have a campus that is completely fine. It's heartwarming to see you all so passionate about it and I'd be upset too. But I don't want you all to be fighting for a lost cause. Make the best of what you have now and make a name for yourselves there.

  • @wildcatzgurl404 Thanks for the positive feedback. They're already rebuilding the school as we speak. We, as current SENIORS, do understand we will not be at our beloved campus. We UNDERSTAND that. We fight for it, because we love our school. It's not a lost cause. Don't worry about us. We're not wasting our time. If we thought we were, we wouldn't be fighting for it. We've ALREADY made a name for ourselves and we continue to do so. Thanks for your concerns though. Greatly appreciated.

  • I'm glad I had the chance to experience all 4 years of high school there. Class of '08, we were the last before they closed it down.

  • hi..

  • i realli love this video....jfk is the first high school ive ever stepped in...

this is were i started my 9th and 10th grade and wen i got transferred due to off district i didnt even want to move...i realli love this school and until now i wish i was still dere...i will always be a proud islander and i would never forget were i came from....jfk rocks!!!!!!

  • If the government plans on making other schools within the next 10 years, they should start off by improving or even extending current schools.

JFK needs to be totally repaired

Southern High Gym, Theater, Track and Pools need to be fixed

idk about the other high schools

Oceanview Middle Schools condemned wings need to be repaired, and most importantly their Gym. my 3 years there, never got to even set foot in the gym.

    many elementary schools on Guam.

If it's final, then Calvo better do so.

  • @MBzDHz I think I would want to kick someone...knowing that you guys were the last freshmen on the original campus and aren't able to go back for at least your last year. LIke seriously, that took just about forever. (Time passes by so quickly...*tear tear*) Anyway, glad to hear all of it. Just hope there's enough money to keep the schools in good enough conditions to keep this from happening to the other schools...that's just about the last thing we need.

  • And I don't want to seem like I'm hating you all because I don't. I have a lot of good friends at JFK. It's just like..."Don't linger too much on the past or you may never move forward into the future", you know? Just some food for thought is all. So, please don't flame or toss all these irrelevant insults at me.

Anyway, I enjoyed watching it. :)

  • @indicted Excuse me? You aren't exactly giving the people of your school a good name by acting ignorant about the people of ours.

  • dang, das deep D;

    great job and thumbs up
