The Count of Monte Cristo

Both movies (Shawshank Redemption and The Count of Monte Cristo) are enthralling, each in its own way.

While the former showed the character almost exactly as the novel, the latter did not show all the novel; they skipped much darker scenes of revenge.

Yes. I guess Shawshank revenge was more "modern" than this old school movie :)

I can see how he used The Hidden Secret in Think and Grow Rich too. A brilliant application of his SPA that came with the result of implementing Step 1, 2 and PPA. He had the mastermind too in that old guy with him in prison.

AWESOME movie. Better than Shawshank because there's more of a story when he breaks out.

Just goes to show you the power of persistence and hope.

If you like inspirational movies like this, you should read The Hidden Secret in Think and Grow Rich. It outlines the natural process of goal achievement. After you read it and watch this movie, you can actually see how he used The Hidden Secret to break out of jail and exact revenge. Makes you see the movie in a new light of understanding.

You ´re right. The movie is a poor copy of the book. I think that this book is one of the best never written.

the marseille peices of the movie are really filmed in the capital city of malta adn the treasure and prison are really in a small maltese island

It's actually three hours long... and I found it to be a wonderfully entertaining adaption.
