This is one of two versions I made of Bach Allemande in e-minor.
I made one in Miami Beach New Years Day with the camera's built-in microphone. I am playing a Ricardo Sanchis Carpio, (Valencia 1975) There is no added reverb.
I hope you like the video. We (Marie and I) had fun filming and editing it!
Per-Olov.

The other one I recorded in Copenhagen this February because I know I made some errors in the first video plus I wanted to play it on my own guitar and with added reverb.

I hope you will listen to both and enjoy!

  • Gee, this one's a bit squeakier than your usual flawlessness. Is it significantly more difficult than most others? Or did a mouse crawl in the hole?

  • Hi my friend. :-) I know. The reason it that I play on a guitar I have never played before! And it had some strange, undefined strings. Well, I can use that as an excuse anyways... :)

    All the best,

    Per-Olov

  • Hello Mister Bachgren,

very nice video and technical Bach played with emotion - wonderful!

    Have a nice day

    Sabine

  • Hi Sabine,

    Thank you. "bachgren..." LOL

I wish you a nice day too!

    Kindly,

    Per-olov

  • As expected.

    This piece is so overwhelming.

    An impressive performance from a

    brilliant musician.

Can I ask you some tips on playing the

    Classical Guitar???

It would be a bit help.

  • Thanks... It's very difficult to give advice when I don't know you at all... :-( Get a teacher, practise a lot and above all: remember it's about music and not yourself... LOL

    Good luck!

    Per-Olov

  • @AndanteLargo (Part 2) It was interesting to read that it was a different guitar that made that much difference. But I realize that the height of the strings (action they call it, right?) and the width of them could create quite a difference. I usually LOVE your playing, for the reason that you are so NOT squeaky. To me, it sounds pretty much like a squeak with the clarinet mouthpiece and that's a no no. Or the dragging bow of a bad violinist. (Aren't they ALL bad violinists? haha)

  • @AndanteLargo Thank you first for not getting mad at me. Then thanks for the explanation. I'm a pretty poor musician, even though I made it through music college. But that was more on brains than talent. I started out as a clarinet major, then switched to voice. I took a year of classical guitar in high school, not private lessons, just a high school class, then repeated it in college, same beginner book. I pick it up now and then, but I only progress to the same point and then hit a wall.

  • ok I need to start studying Bach seriously. Bravo PeO

  • not as good as the other one hah :-) . just saying

  • I loved the playing, but the waves are cheesy and obnoxious.

  • you are the best!

  • Well done. Not a flaw heard and a great video.

  • Great playing!

I've just realised that whenever I begin learning a new piece I search for it on youtube and 9 times out of 10 I end up listening to you perform it perfectly.

Thank you for putting all of this great music out there. You're a real help to students of the guitar
