Calling names is a bit ridiculous considering the medical community at large does not support Obama or his health plan either. Kick a surgeon in the face then tell him to sew you up?? Or.. how does that work again?
You want something like this 'healthcare plan' you should get the support of the medical community first. Yea, that would be pretty smart.

FOX I'm an Australian and there is a reason why its called elective surgery its because by its very nature its not urgent a nose job or breast implants are an example of elective surgery you don't need to be priority when you have that type of surgery, on the otherhand if you need a new heart you are put in the priority list its still a list but the point is you skip ahead of other people who don't need surgery as much as you do

@kkrules13 Heretic!

I call for this Tories fool to resign. Daniel Hannan doesn't represent his party nor the UK. He is a MEP- member of European Parliament. He doesn't work in the UK. he works in Brussels!

@snakpak79 You think Beck is anti-establishment? He works for an extremely powerful news corporation whose owner openly admits to using his influence to promote his own agenda. Beck's about as establishment as you can get.

@vandpubsell The NHS hasn't survived this long without debate or controversy because it employs so many people, it has survived this long because the British people love it. Even if they complain about how it works or operates, you'll find it incredibly hard to find someone in the UK who believes that we should scrap the NHS completely.

The brilliant thing is though, the truly beautiful thing about the UK healthcare system, is that Senator Chris Dodd COULD go to the UK and get treatment. Just like that. It doesn't even matter that he's not a British citizen and hasn't paid UK taxes. We have built a system where doctors and nurses can just do their job and treat people, regardless of who those people are, or where they were born, or how rich and poor they are.

@mickety2001 Of course not. Many really do support it of course, but as Hannan points out, with a 1,4 million workforce dependent on it, the NHS has enormous political clout. No UK politician can afford to be even thought to be opposed to it.

@grantchristy Sorry but you are wrong. Statistics show that American hospitals have a much worse record than the UK on MRSA and c-difficile. British hospitals are cleaner than American ones and many Americans die each year of hospital acquired infections.

You won't find one UK politician in the UK talking down the NHS. They all support it.
