Riding one of the two very nice elevators in the Michigan State Capitol, in downtown Lansing, MI. I really like the exterior lantern fixture on this one; it has that historic/luxurious look to it. The door and the front side of the cab have a very shiny gold surface. This elevator would have been even better if they changed the lighting, though.

TECHNICAL SPECS:
Make: Otis
Type: Traction
Capacity: 2500 Lbs.
Number of Floors: 5
Year Installed: 1878
Year Modernized: 1989-1992

  • Wow, those are some really nice, very fast elevators.

  • @CaptainElevator42189 Yes they are.

  • Awesome elevator, although I wish it had the original fixtures.

  • @jimster586 I actually like how they used Adams fixtures on this one. True, it probably would look nice if this elevator had maybe GEN2 or Series 5 fixtures on the inside (but not on the outside glass fixture, because that wouldn't look right). It would also look more decent and luxurious if they used wall lamps instead of flourescent lights.

  • Also, the Adams fixtures are now made by Epco, with the Classic being WGH, Designer being WN, Surface Mount being InchLine, and Survivor & Plus being the original names.
