This is Zamba by Vizzutti. Stripling did it on a recording of the Carmine Caruso Jazz competition with the 1:00 Jazz Lab at North Texas several years back. Great tune, great recording, great trumpet player! I love his tone - big enough to drive a truck through!!!
From 2.30, why does this Vid and the cadenza remind me so much of Vizzutti's fire Dance. Although its a dif piece it shares a slight similarity, but oh well thats just me rambling, i like both Viz and Byron.
this man is truly amazing, saw him at a concert a few nights ago and was totally blown away!
