This was taken off the 1984 tour. The last one with Roth. A lot of new stuff was tried on this tour: Ed playing keyboards, the original Frankenstrat was replaced with the Kramer Baretta's, Alex had a hybrid drum kit consisting of Ludwig and Simmons drums. The stage was huge: 70,000 watt PA, 2,000 lights, etc. etc. This was end of the old Van Halen, and a glimpse of the upcoming Van Halen. Great show, i miss those times.

@tmcc420 Yeah, a rarity and a sweet treat in the later years, but was played some in their early years.
Someone has a concert of them from '76 at I believe their Cali HS, (very raw) & at the end the taper claims that 2 songs were sent to Gene Simmons as a demo tape. Running with the Devil right into House of Pain.
I was only 14 when 1984 came out, so I only knew Unchained, Mean Streets, and a few others at the time, but to the die hards, House of Pain put on vinyl Rocks! Def 1 of their best.

Nice dude, heard they rarely performed this
-
The "outro riff" if probably one of the best jams Van Halen has ever done!!!
I saw this tour twice. Once in Portland Oregon and then in Kansas City...on my senior "Road Trip" in my 68' Volkswagon Bug!

Dave usually does a half ass live show but this is pretty tight

@ 0:16 Dave almost pulled a steven tyler there. Cool video though. Looks like the 1984 tour (the stage and clothes give it away). Van Halen in their prime!!!!!
