@frauregner Sometimes, depends on how much prey drive they have. Our Podenco's eat cats ;) Most Podenco's i know are terrible around cats, it triggers their preydrive :)

Best breed of dogs ever. We have 3 Podenco Ibicenco's and i couldnt imagine life without a Podenco Ibicenco!

All my cats have been caught by them at some time, sometimes 2 or 3 times. they severely injure them, but cats bite back and run, even with broken bones,to escape. they come home missing skin, tails and eyes, but repair and live. Chickens are killed quickly and easily. The dogs will kill all chickens available.

The question with the cats....podencos are like every other breed- some like cats, other don't. My podenco loves our cat, but I also know some which don't.
It's your task to accustom your podenco to your cat.

How are they around other animals-does your dog like cats? I have a cat, we are adopting a Podenco, and I am curious because I don´t want the dog to attack our cat.

I have one, it's really tuff to control it in a neighborhood park when it sees a bird. The dog immediately attemps to run behind it... When we unleash it it runs so incredibly quickly... it's amazing.
